Miranda went from a size 8 to a size 6 and was truly glowing at the CMT Awards. Believe it or not Miranda lost weight by following a strict of a diet regimen during his weight loss transformation but she did keep her 2 favorite vices on her weekly menu (Cheetos and Vodka.)
Miranda says that her approach to dieting was different than most people and she enjoys life too much to torture herself only eating veggies and lean protein. Miranda made a few big switches to her diet so she could still enjoy the things she loved the most. One thing she did not do, was take any shortcuts. She lost the weight by eating right and working hard, go figure!
Miranda recently shared a typical day of eating during her weight loss transformation. Some of the things she still ate may shock you – but she says that she was still eating less calories than her diet before. By not consuming a high calorie breakfast and swapping it out for a nutrient rich veggie drink she was able to cut back nearly 300 calories per day – which was a huge catalyst to her going from a size 8 to a size 6.
Lets dive in and take a look at a typical day of eating for Miranda Lambert.
Breakfast:
Breast fast was the biggest switch for Miranda. Miranda use to indulge 1st thing in the morning with high calorie breakfast meals that consisted of eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon and sometimes-even pancakes.
Miranda says that she eliminated all high calorie breakfast foods from her diet so she could enjoy more delicious foods later in the day (and of course save room for her favorite snack – cheetos.)
Miranda started off her day now with a nutrient powerhouse consisting of a vegetable and fruit drink. She would make sure that the drink had mostly all vegetables and would sweeten it with apple, pineapple or strawberry.
Miranda says that she opted for antioxidant rich veggies such as kale, spinach, celery, broccoli and carrots. These drinks only contained about 100 calories and had all her essential vitamins and minerals for the day. Most importantly due to all the fiber from the vegetables this drink helped keep her full.
Late Morning Snack:
Miranda would keep her snacks very healthy. This meant usually a small serving of something like flavored almonds(chocolate were her favorite), a piece of fruit.
Lunch:
For lunch Miranda made sure to eliminate bread and swapped out her turkey and cheese sandwiches for delicious salads. If she consumed carbohydrates during lunch it was only from her salad dressing and occasionally a piece of fruit.
Miranda said that she enjoyed Oriental chicken salads the most during her diet and was able to find these at pretty much every city across the United States. Miranda made a rule that she would only consume lower calorie salad dressing so she made sure to read food labels and keep it under 50 calories per 2 tbsp.
She would top her salads with fresh grilled chicken or salmon. Her usual lunches would almost always consist of fresh greens and lean proteins. On days when she was extra hungry she would have a handful of mixed nuts or raw almond butter.
Afternoon Snack:
Afternoon snacks were the one meal that Miranda says that she would indulge a bit. On most days she would opt for a bag of Cheetos but keep her portions in check. This meant that although she was eating Cheetos she would make sure not to exceed 300 calories worth. This kept her daily calorie totals at a deficit allowing her to still lose weight quickly.
Dinner:
Miranda would enjoy filling dinners so she would not wake up starving since she was only drinking vegetable and fruit juice. Miranda says that many nights her and hubby Blake would go out to dinner.
Miranda would make sure that she would order somewhat healthy – and not get carried away with dessert. Miranda would stick with lean cuts of steak, seafood and grilled chicken. She would enjoy carbohydrates such as rice and potatoes but would make sure not to eat the bread that they served at all the restaurants.
When Miranda and hubby Blake were out at dinner she would typically skip dessert so she could enjoy one of her favorite vices of all time – Vodka! Miranda says that the Vodka helped her sleep if she sipped it with her dinner she would not crave desserts.
