Singer Lady Gaga has reportedly lost 25 pounds! The 29-year-old “Do What U Want” singer has spent a substantial amount of time in the gym. For instance, in addition to taking yoga classes, Lady Gaga has also been spotted at SoulCycle in Chicago. She is apparently working out as she continues to prepare for her upcoming wedding to actor Taylor Kinney. Lady Gaga is back in top form following a 25-pound weight loss, thanks to a portion-controlled diet and hot yoga workouts. Gaga underscored that young girls need to value themselves and not get caught up in self-destructive cycles of crash-dieting and self-loathing. The pop icon said she has finally learned to love herself, flaws and all. “This is who I am,” she wrote. “And I am proud at any size.”
But just because she doesn’t let her weight dictate her happiness doesn’t mean she doesn’t diet and exercise. The singer follows a portion-controlled diet and does yoga, strength-trains and runs.
The 5-foot-1 Gaga, who usually follows a strict diet and works out obsessively, made headlines after gaining 25 pounds last summer binge-eating pizza and pasta at her parents’ NYC restaurant.
“I’ve got to work out every day, and I work out hung over if I am hung over,” she said. “And it’s about the cross-training and keeping yourself inspired. I have to say, I do a ton of yoga.”
With her weight gain earlier this year, many fans and critics assumed that Lady Gaga was expecting her first child with Taylor Kinney. However, the Grammy-winning singer made it clear that she was not pregnant by squashing those rumors on stage during a recent performance alongside Tony Bennett.
She keeps a consistent workout schedule: Gaga maintains the fitness regimen created for her by longtime trainer Harley Pasternak. Even while touring, she works out five times a week for at least 25 minutes each day. The secret to Lady Gaga’s killer abs? Lots of crunches. Harley starts her on a basic crunch and modifies that into reverse crunches, ending with a double crunch.
Also she keeps a healthy diet: Besides following Harley’s fitness routine, Gaga has also subscribed to his 5 Factor Diet, which says to eat five times a day (two meals and three snacks) of foods falling into these five categories: lean protein, low-glycemic carbs, healthy fats, fiber, and a sugar-free beverage. The diet also allows for one cheat day a week. Some of Gaga’s favorite foods to munch on are salsa with grain chips, tofu, turkey slices, hummus, and coconut water.
