Carrie swapped high fiber whole grains such as lentils, quinoa, brown rice and oatmeal instead of her usual go to “white carbs.”

You don’t land the cover of Shape magazine 7 months after giving birth by being lazy – and Carrie made sure to hire one of the top celebrity trainers to whip her into bikini body shape. Her workout regimen was strategically constructed to help her build lean muscle mass, boost her metabolism, and turn her body into a fat burning machine around the clock. Carrie was following a very clean diet during her post pregnancy weight loss transformation designed to keep her metabolism churning all day long.

Not only was she eating clean and drinking several cups of fat burning green tea per day – but she was taking some incredibly powerful all natural metabolism boosting pills in the morning with breakfast. These pills gave her a burst of energy so she was able to get in training sessions 5 days per week.

Monday and Wednesday’s workout routine consisted of 20 minutes of cardio and 40 minutes of free weights.

Her trainer explains that even though the primary goal of Carrie’s workout regimen was fat burning it was still integral that she lifted weights.

Lifting weights helps you burn a ton of calories and boosts your metabolism more post workout than doing standard cardio.

That is why Carrie would turn to free weights twice per week during her transformation. You can even see Carrie lifting weights in ads for her brand new fitness brand Celia!

Monday and Wednesday Cardio Routine:Diet Plan

20 Minutes of one of the following: Fast Pace walking on the incline treadmill, medium intensity on the elliptical machine, or bike machine at medium resistance

40 Minutes of the following free weight routine:

Db Bench press, Db shoulder shapers, db. walking lunges, db. step ups, weight Russian twist abdominals, db. hammer curls (3 sets each)
Thursday and Sunday: Full Body Workout (body weight only)

Thursday and Sunday was an intense body weight only workout routine that combined high intensity cardio exercises with strategies body weight resistance exercises.

Carrie would typically perform this workout routine outside to get some fresh sunlight and enjoy the beautiful California weather.

Since Carrie is in Los Angeles a lot she would routinely perform these workouts at the historic Runyon Canyon in Hollywood Hills.

Friday was another day in the weight room designed to work Carrie’s largest muscle groups and boost her metabolism for the weekend.

Her Friday weight room session incorporated a lot of high repetition machine exercises so she could sculpt and tone her muscles and melt away stubborn fat from every portion of her body.

These Friday workouts were fantastic for helping Carrie lose her post pregnancy love handles and also shaping her muscles.

Her trainer attributes her workout intensity and consistency to her landing the coveted Shape Magazine cover just 7 months after being pregnant.

Friday Full Body Workout Routine:

Carrie’s trainer would select 6 of the following exercises for her Friday full body weight room session. She would perform 3 sets of each and knock out between 15-20 repetitions per set. This is the magical rep range that allowed her to lose weight and boost her metabolism around the clock.

Full Body Workout Routine Exercises (Carrie would do 6 of these exercises per workout)

Machine chest press, machine shoulder press, lateral pull-down, seated row machine, assisted pull up machine, assisted dip machine, reverse hyperextension, leg extension, prone leg curl, machine leg press, smith machine squat, weighted abdominal machine, calf raise machine, seated lateral raise machine, oblique twist, preacher curl machine.
