Eva Gaëlle Green is a French actress born on 6 July 1980 in Paris. She is best known for portraying the Bond girl Vesper Lynd in the 2006 film Casino Royale, and Artemisia in the 2014 film 300: Rise of an Empire. She started her career in theatre before making her film debut in 2003 in Bernardo Bertolucci’s controversial The Dreamers. She achieved international recognition when she appeared in Kingdom of Heaven (2005).Since 2006, Green has starred in independent films Cracks (2009), Womb (2010), and Perfect Sense (2011). She has also appeared in the television series Camelot (2011), and played Angelique Bouchard in Tim Burton’s big-screen adaptation of Dark Shadows (2012). She played Ava Lord in the Sin City sequel, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She is currently starring in Penny Dreadful as Vanessa Ives.
