She received her breakthrough role as teen airhead Kelly Bundy on Fox’s popular sitcom Married… With Children at age 15. After some film projects, she returned to TV in 1998 to star in the sitcom Jesse. In 2008, she underwent a double mastectomy when she tested positive for breast cancer and has since been an advocate for breast cancer awareness. Applegate went to star in such sitcoms as Samantha Who? and Up All Night. She recently appeared in such films as Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013) and Vacation (2015).
