Kristen Dunst was 100 percent okay with having to gain weight for her role in FX’s Fargo. The usually slim actress revealed to Jimmy Kimmel on Monday, Oct. 12, that she pretty much just chilled and ate cheese and bread to pack on the pounds for her role as Midwestern beautician Peggy Blomquist. The Interview With The Vampire darling told Kimmel, ‘Well, listen, I was in Calgary and it was cold. And so I ordered in a lot of pizza, grilled cheese.’
On screen, the blonde does appear a bit curvier, but she doesn’t look even remotely overweight. In fact, in most scenes she looks just right. The actress could not have gained more than five to 10 pounds.
“I gained weight for this role,” the 33-year-old actress, who also used Jane Iredale cosmetics on set, told Kimmel. “But really, I just sat in my bed, watched Friday Night Lights and, like, ate.”

In August, Dunst revealed that another role, in the upcoming film Woodshock, required her to lose 10 pounds in two weeks. “I am a girl who loves to go out to eat — it’s one of my joys in life,” she told the magazine, before adding that she needed to shed fast because her character has to “look a little ill.”
